(CNN) – SpaceX is once again attempting to expand the scope of its private space travel operation.
The company is shooting for the stars, or at least earth’s orbit aiming to beam internet across the southern U.S. by late 2020.
Its ultimate goal is to become one of the world’s largest internet providers.
The massive undertaking means deploying a constellation of thousands of satellites to provide broadband from space.
They’re calling planned constellation Starlink.
The FCC hasn’t yet given SpaceX the go-ahead on reconfiguring its satellites and the company has faced push-back from potential competitors.
Morgan Stanley published a report Tuesday estimating that star-link could turn SpaceX into a $52-billion company.
