#Dell ‘s European channel boss has opened up about his plans for the channel leading up to and following on from the EMC merger set to close later this year. Michael Collins, vice president of EMEA strategy and channel at Dell, has claimed that boosting customer acquisition through its partner base is his top priority as the #EMC merger approaches. Global channel boss Cheryl Cook announced at the firm’s Dell World technology conference last year that the company will implement new financial incentives to boost partners’ capacity to acquire more customers. Dell’s Preferred and Premier partners can earn up to 15 per cent additional rebate for bringing new business to Dell, according to Collins. He claims that there has been a 20 per cent year-over-year increase in deal registration since the incentives were put into place early this year.
